Wednesday of the Second Week of Easter

Let John 3:16 devastate fresh: The most famous verse in the Bible has been so domesticated that it has lost its force. Preach it as if no one in the room has ever heard it. God so loved the world that he gave. Gave. His Son. For you. Let the silence after that sentence do the work.

God did not send his Son to condemn: Many people in the pews carry a version of Christianity that is fundamentally about judgment. Today's Gospel directly contradicts that version. The light came not to expose failures but to reveal that people's works are done in God. Preach the liberation of that sentence to anyone who has confused condemnation for the voice of God.

The prison break: The apostles are jailed and freed overnight with a single commission: tell the people everything about this life. The message cannot be imprisoned. Neither can the people who carry it. Preach the unstoppable nature of the Easter message.
