Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Parish Prayers website and subscription service operated by Deacon Life, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By subscribing to or using Parish Prayers, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Parish Prayers provides daily Universal Prayers (Prayers of the Faithful) and related liturgical content for Catholic parishes. Our service includes access to prayer content via our website and downloadable Word documents.

2. Subscription and Payment

Pricing: Parish Prayers is offered as an annual subscription at $50 per year.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed annually in advance through Stripe. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account page or by contacting us. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial subscription periods.

Refunds: If you are unsatisfied with Parish Prayers, please contact us within 30 days of your initial subscription for a full refund. Refund requests after 30 days are handled on a case-by-case basis.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access. Your subscription is for your personal or parish use and may not be shared with other parishes or organizations. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that appear to be sharing access inappropriately.

4. Permitted Use

As a subscriber, you may:

• Access and view prayer content on our website
• Download and print prayer content for use in your parish's liturgical celebrations
• Adapt or modify the prayers as needed for your parish's use
• Include the prayers in parish worship aids and bulletins

You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or republish our content to other parishes or organizations
• Share your account credentials with individuals outside your parish
• Use automated systems to scrape or download content in bulk
• Remove any attribution or copyright notices from downloaded materials

5. Intellectual Property

All content on Parish Prayers, including prayers, summaries, and other liturgical materials, is the property of Deacon Life, Inc. and is protected by copyright law. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the content as described in Section 4.

6. Content Disclaimer

While we strive to provide theologically sound and liturgically appropriate content, the prayers and materials provided are offered as suggestions and resources. Parish clergy and liturgy coordinators are responsible for reviewing and approving all content used in their parish's liturgical celebrations. We are not responsible for how the content is used or adapted.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain consistent availability of our service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to suspend service for maintenance or updates. We will attempt to provide notice of planned maintenance when possible.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deacon Life, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Parish Prayers. Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the preceding 12 months.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify subscribers of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to request account deletion.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Parish Prayers shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
